My Main Squeezes

Brushes are  mandatory when it comes to being a makeup artist or preforming flawless makeup at home in your bathroom. I have been buying and replacing brushes my entire career. It seem like everyday there's a new brush that I neeeeeeeed in my brush belt. However, in the mist of all of my many brushes, when it comes to my ALWAYS go to brushes I have just 4! I know it seems strange to buy tons of brushes but only favor 4 but it's true. I use and suggest these brushes to everyone. And if your an aspiring makeup artist looking to get the right brushes to start your professional brush set ,then this post is just for you.

I'm going to be talking about brushes from MAC Cosmetics in this post. However, You can also grab these brushes from Sigma for a much reasonable price. Sigma also offers AMAZING brush set that are worth the price tag when you compare the prices of each brush individually to MAC's. I have these brushes from both companies. I'm a product junkie and I have no one brand that I stick to. I told you earlier that I have tons of brushes. I buy them from a wide range of companies. But when it comes to a brush company whose brushes comes twinzies close to MAC's it will definitely be Sigma's brushes.

Here they are, my FAB 4!! These brushes are all MAC Cosmetics brushes. From left to right you have the 187, 239, 217, & 224 brush. No worries, of course I'll I explain them all to you.

The FAB 4 Breakdown

187 Duo Fibre Brush - This brush can handle 2 jobs, who doesn't love that? This brush is the perfect brush for liquid or cream foundation application. Yet, the beauty of this brush is that it's also act as a powder brush. Yup, you can apply you foundation and powder with this one brush, using one right after the other. The key to this brush is to only dip the tip of the brush into your foundation and stipple the foundation on in circular motions. Powder application hold to the same easy steps. Trust me, this brush will cut your makeup application time in 1/2 compared to using sponges or the traditional flat foundation brush. I have 4 of these beauties in my bridal kit to handle large bridal parties quickly.

239 Eye Shader Brush - So you wanna pack that beautiful eye shadow on to the lids? Need a brush for applying cream shadows? Of course you do, and this brush will definitely help you do just that. This brush's frim, fine, tapered, and smooth bristles allow it to pick up pigments and creams at first touch. I love this brush, it gets the job done. Now, there are other brushes made for this job as well, but this is my personal favorite.

217 Blending Brush - Blend, Blend, and then Blend some more!! Every makeup artist in the industry can vouch about how important blending is and so will I. This is the brush.com to have when you speak the word blending, in my professional opinion. I have used this brush to blend concealer or cream shadows around the eye area many of days. Blending eye shadow creases out, this brush is about that LIFE!! lol If your interested in having flawless shade transitions through out your shadows, which you should be, this is your tool. I practiced blending everyday with this brush in my early artist days. In fact the 187 and 217 were my first MAC Cosmetics brush purchases.

224 Tapered Blending Brush - Well we go again with blending. I told you it was important. Every part of makeup application has a blending method for flawless results. This brush happens to be my go to brush for blending concealer under the brow when I'm sculpting/highlighting the brow. I also use this brush to blend out setting powder in the under eye area. Blending and applying eye shadow are great jobs this brush can handle with ease too. I suggest you grab a few of these along with the 217 brush. With them you can't blame your bad blending on the brush. Like I said before you have to practice blending, so having these brushes won't make you a better blender, they'll allow you to have the BEST tools for the job.

As always I hope this post help you in your journey to becoming a better makeup artist. Please SUBSCRIBE & COMMENT I welcome them both. Thanks Rosebuds!!
